The Way That You Love Me, Paula's second single wasn't a successful release either.
Following in the footsteps of her first single, "The Way That You Love Me" failed to hit the Billboard Hot 40.
The song, written by Oliver Leiber, received little airplay on the radio and the music video received even less airplay on television.
By late summer of 1988 "Forever Your Girl" was declared a flop.
In 1989 Virgin remixed, renamed and re-released Paula's second single, "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me."
The video was remade by award-winning director David Fincher and the song went from #87 on Billboard in 1988 to #2 in 1989.
