November- While an Illinois judge refuses to dismiss a class action suit brought against Abdul, Virgin Records and its distributor WEA alleging deceptive trade practices, a California federal court orders Virgin to turn over copies of the original recordings of "I Need You" and "Opposites Attract" to vocalist Yvette Marine, who is claiming that she shares lead vocals with Abdul on the cuts.

Marine also urges the label and the singer to hold a joint press conference to prove her claims, which were initially filed as a lawsuit on April 8th.

November 30th- "Blowing Kisses in the Wind" hits US #6.
