Remember their faces -- because you may never see them again!
Last night, "American Idol" finally made it back to Hollywood with the lucky 117 wannabes chosen from around the nation.
Fan favorites JASMINE, Atlanta hunk ALAN RITCHSON and "Scooter Girl" NICOLE TIERI got a second chance to try to impress the judges with yet another round of singing. Tonight, only 32 finalists will remain after more brutal auditions!
"It's bone-crushing," our special correspondent Paula Abdul tells ET's Bob Goen. "Everyone's psyche is being tested and stripped down. It is getting right down to the wire, so every move they make is under scrutiny."
On tonight's ET, we'll bring you all the latest from the hot FOX series, including Paula's outrage over one singer's viperish tongue. Paula tells us things are just not as warm and fuzzy as in the past. Several contestants have displayed a great deal of attitude. So much so that she had to take KIRA SCOTT from New York to task for being disrespectful when she lashed out at SIMON COWELL, saying, "The rumors must be true. You must be gay."
"I think, in their minds, they want to stand out, so they are willing to do something left of center," Paula explains.
At least 20 contestants were cut, and tonight the final 32 will be named from the remaining 87.
"The cuts are difficult to make and that's why we have the wild card show," the sole female judge says. "So if we want to change our minds and bring back some people to see again, we can."
That said, Paula does have a few favorites that she thinks will make it to the finals. They include FANTASIA BARRINO from Atlanta and JON PETER LEWIS from Honolulu, who Simon said looked like a pen salesman, among others.
Who will be left standing? Watch ET tonight to find out!
