Simon Cowell's been defending his fellow 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul, who's been accused of having an affair with one of the show's contestants.
Corey Clark was kicked off the show in 2003 for failing to tell producers about a criminal arrest.
Although Simon's normally involved in blazing on-screen arguments with Paula - he went on the Ellen Degeneres chat show and said Corey is just after publicity:
"We'd seen the trailers like everybody else, you know, 'Shock! Horror! You won't believe what's on this show'."
"We were watching the show together and then it was quite obvious that this was just a huge plug for his appalling new album."
" I don't know if you heard the song he sang on the show, I mean it was just terrible."
"I have to say in defence of Paula, it was all news to me and it was all news to her. I think it's just another controversy on 'American Idol' isn't it?"
"I think she's half hating it, and half loving it."
Paula's accused Corey of being a liar and has denied a relationship with him.
