Hi Keith,

When is Virgin Records releasing a collection of Paula Abdul's greatest hits? And what about a new album? Will it be coming from Virgin as well?

Paula Abdul's greatest hits album is tentatively scheduled for a Sept. 26 release on Virgin. The set is aiming to include all of Abdul's top-10 hits on The Billboard Hot 100: "Straight Up" (No. 1), "Forever Your Girl" (No. 1), "Cold Hearted" (No. 1), "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me" (No. 3), "Opposites Attract" (No. 1), "Rush, Rush" (No. 1), "The Promise Of A New Day" (No. 1), and "Blowing Kisses In The Wind" (No. 6).

We're unaware if any new studio effort from Abdul will be released on Virgin. However, new studio tracks may be included on the forthcoming hits set.

In other Abdul news, she co-wrote the disco number "Spinning Around" for Kylie Minogue's latest album. The track was released as a single and it entered the U.K. chart at No. 1 last week. It's Abdul's first No. 1 single (however you count her credit) in the U.K. Her previous high, as a performer, was with the No. 2 hit "Opposites Attract."
