Paula Abdul Did Lead on 'Forever Your Girl

Paula Abdul recently won her court battle over who performed lead vocals on her hit album "Forever Your Girl."

A Los Angeles jury recently ruled that Ms. Abdul, not Yvette Marine, sang lead vocals. Ms. Marine had filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against Virgin Records (Ms. Abdul's record company), alleging that she and Ms. Abdul sang co-leads on at least two songs and that she was not given proper credit following the release of the album in 1988.

"I feel the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders," Ms. Abdul said after the jury returned its verdict following three hours of deliberations.

Ms. Marine told reporters that she was disappointed that the jury didn't feel her contributions were more significant than background.

The highly-publicized case came on the heels of the announcement by Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan of Milli Vanilli that they did not sing at all on the hot-selling album "Girl You Know It's True."
